Endumeni Civic Association ploughs back to the Churches
eNdumeni Civic Association , KwaZulu Natal Christian Churches and Built Environment Support Group had a successful preliminary meeting held on 25July 2018 outside Sibongile Civic hall , to chart a way forward regarding the court orders that were delivered on the 9 February by the Pietermaritzburg high court on housing allocation mayhem sponsored by eNdumeni council . The meeting resolved to consolidate the case of the victims through tapping to the technical assistence provided by the Built Environment Support Group in order to match the challenge of high court orders pound for pound .
We note with dismay that respondents are not responding to high court orders which is an indictment to our nascent constitutional democracy given the human rights violations precipitated by deliberate corrupt driven housing allocation sponsored by the eNdumeni municipality .
The meeting has resolved to facilitate an urgent meeting which will comprise of the the Legal Resources Centre , Built Environment Support Group , KwaZulu Natal Christian Churches and eNdumeni Civic Association so as to punctuate the state of things in the post high court judgement .
The meeting further noted the ignominious practice exhibited by both eNdumeni council and human settlement respectively , they both failed to release their extravagant or wasteful forensic findings instituted promptly after we filed our finding affidavit to Pietermaritzburg high court . The meeting called for an urgent release of both forensic investigations conducted by both the 1respondent and 2 respondent respectively . Both respondents must further indicate the practical steps they have employed to redress the corrupt practice contained by their forensic reports . The costs incurred must be released for public scrutiny which must include high court cost incurred thus far .
The considerations of transparency , accountability and good governance are sacrosanct in a constitutional democracy , thus , legislatures and executives are subjected to the rule of law .
