The Tshwane Metro Police Department drug unit members received a tip off about a shop that is suspected to be selling and trading in illegal alcohol which was found with the Nigerian women. On the arrival of the drug unit the members searched the place and found illegal alcohol with an estimated street value worth R 89 400 which was smuggled from other countries into South Africa.

The stock was taken and booked in. The suspected that was found with the illegal alcohol was taken to the local police station and is expected to appear in court soon. As a result, the Tshwane ya cleanna operations will go deep in cleaning the streets
of Pretoria, Central.

During the TMPD operation a total of 22 taxis were impounded for various offenses related to roadworthiness and liquor outlets were thoroughly inspected for obedience to by laws and regulation. Business owners and individuals who were found to be in violation of municipal by laws were issued with the opportunity to rectify notices.

Several items were taken during the operation to ensure compliance and seven motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during a drunken
driving operation which was conducted at R101 by Regional members from region 2 sector 2 in Hammanskraal. “Well done, TMPD and continue to fight crime in the city,” commented the TMPD Chief of Police Commissioner YCR Faro.
