The Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA) is preparing to host its highly anticipated Annual Summit on 8 October 2025, bringing together influential voices from the retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods sectors. The event will take place in Johannesburg under the theme “Building Sustainable Value Chains for the Future Economy.”

Recognised as one of South Africa’s most prominent industry gatherings, the CGCSA Summit attracts senior executives, policymakers, and thought leaders from across the country and abroad. This year’s focus will centre on issues such as supply chain resilience, food security, sustainability, digital transformation, and consumer protection, all crucial to the evolving landscape of retail and trade.

CGCSA Chief Executive Officer Zinhle Tyikwe said the summit comes at a critical time for the sector. “The CGCSA Summit 2025 will bring together decision-makers to address issues that directly impact the industry’s growth and long-term sustainability. Our focus is on driving innovation and fostering responsible business practices that benefit consumers and communities alike,” said Tyikwe.

The event will include panel discussions, keynote sessions, and networking opportunities, with participation expected from major retail chains, FMCG manufacturers, and representatives from government and consumer advocacy bodies. Topics such as ESG compliance, climate-smart retail, and consumer trends shaping post-pandemic markets will also be explored.

Previous summits have drawn participation from leading corporations including Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Tiger Brands, and Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa, alongside key government departments and civil society stakeholders.

This year’s summit is expected to build on that legacy, aligning with South Africa’s broader national priorities of economic recovery, job creation, and sustainable development. For delegates and industry professionals, it offers a vital opportunity to gain insight into emerging market trends, policy shifts, and best practices driving growth across the consumer goods landscape.Registration for the summit is currently open on the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa’s official website, with limited seats available.
