Time Square recognises outstanding academic achievement with bursaries to cover school fees for the year

Academic dedication and a passion for learning have earned three Glen High School learners bursaries to support their education and future ambitions. Time Square has awarded the learners bursaries of R32 500 each as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting education and local communities.
The learners and their grade averages are Botlhale Mahlangu (82%), Eunice Mungomba (85%), and Oreoluwa Omotobora (84%).
Outside the classroom, Mungomba, the top learner in maths in Grade 8, enthusiastically plays netball and hopes to study medicine to be a neurosurgeon.
Mahlangu joined the debate team because of wanting to challenge social standards and hopes to pursue a career in diplomacy.
Omotobora’s achievements include coming first in Social Science as well as Natural Science, and was the most improved learner in Economic Management Sciences. A future as a doctor or dentist beckons. Her favourite inspirational quote is “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts,” by Winston Churchill.
“The vision of The Glen High School is to be a superior institution of learning where all learners realise their full potential to become well-balanced and honest citizens – respected, credible, and equipped to meet challenges,” says principal Caroline Nel. “We are grateful to Time Square for enabling these learners to follow their dreams, which begin with a solid high school education.”

The bursaries were presented at a ceremony at Time Square in February. The principal, learners receiving the bursaries and their parents attended the event, where Time Square General Manager Ruben Gooranah formally handed over the awards.
