While most graduates take time to celebrate, Buhle Sindane (26) went straight from the graduation stage to the kitchen. Minutes after receiving her Advanced Diploma in Project Management from Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) on Thursday, 15 May, she rushed off to honour a catering job on the Pretoria Campus — proof of her dedication and entrepreneurial spirit.
“I couldn’t drop the ball. Everything had to be perfect and on time,” she said.
Buhle is the founder of Magnitude Of Flavour (MOF), a growing catering business operating from a trailer just outside campus. Known for her kota (sphatlho) and comfort meals, she now employs six staff and uses bicycles for fast deliveries.
Her business started in student residence, sparked by her love for cooking and inspired by her grandmother, Lettie Zondi. Support from TUT’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Development helped her scale up, offering training and mentorship.

Now pursuing an Honours degree focusing on networking in entrepreneurship, Buhle credits her studies for helping her manage risk and deliver quality service. Her big dreams include owning supermarkets and rooftop restaurants.
“Be persistent, watch the journey unfold, network and talk to people,” she advises young entrepreneurs.
On graduation day, Buhle didn’t just earn a diploma — she proved what hustle and heart look like in action.
