Tragedy struck as a bus carrying ANC supporters met with a fatal accident on Sunday, the 25th of February, outside Paulpietersburg in KwaZulu-Natal.
According to the statement released by the African National Congress (ANC), at least 9 individuals lost their lives, while 17 others sustained injuries in the crash, which occurred near Dumbe Dam.
The passengers on board were returning from the ANC’s manifesto launch event in Durban, marking a day of political engagement and anticipation. Mafika Mndebele, the spokesperson for ANC Kwazulu-Natal, has confirmed that those injured in the accident are currently receiving necessary medical attention.
After the very sad accident, the ANC chose not to guess what caused it. Instead, they want to wait for the police to finish their investigation to learn more about why the crash happened.
