After reducing the service fee for vehicle license disc renewal to R99 on its app last year, FNB has further dropped the fee to R69 for its customers.

According to FNB, this change has already made its service the cheapest among major providers in South Africa, on par with the National Traffic Information System’s online portal.

“This is another way we’re helping our customers navigate life and the tough economic environment by offering affordable, seamless, and secured solutions for their car needs,” said FNB chief imagineer Jolandé Duvenage.

“The bank has now further reduced the combined service and delivery fee to R69 for a promotional period,” added FNB. “Nav Car helped me when my disc expired. I was able to renew it very easily and fast on my FNB App,” said Sibusiso, a customer.

“The vehicle license renewal service is part of a comprehensive range of solutions available to FNB customers as part of its broader nav» Car ecosystem offering. This includes helping customers get free vehicle value estimates, pay traffic fines, insure their vehicles against theft, and protect against scratches or dents, as well as access vehicle repair providers or take up an extended warranty to minimize the cost of mechanical repairs,” FNB explained in a press statement.

CEO Jolandé Duvenage stated that the bank will also reward customers with R99 worth of eBucks for a license disc renewal and provide a no-obligation car insurance quote from FNB Insurance.

“This service from FNB is offered in collaboration with the Road Traffic Management Corporation, with no paperwork required if you are the registered owner of the vehicle,” FNB stated.

FNB reported that over 1 million cars were uploaded, and it completed 107,000 license disc renewals in the past 12 months.
