PONTSHO MAKHETHA HAS PASSED ON

It is with sadness to announce the passing of Mme Pontsho Makhetha. Makhetha Worked for SABC for over 30 years. She Started working at the SABC in 1986 as a Radio Sesotho (Now Lesedi FM) presenter, producer and translator of women, children, youth and educational programmes.

In 2004, she joined the SABC Education Department as head of two Units (Adult and training together with public information and social development).

Makhetha has participated in broadcasting conferences and seminars in countries like Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, India, America, Britain, to name a few.

Before retirement, She was responsible for all units/genre (Drama, Entertainment, religion, education, factual, children and licensed local and international content) that acquire content for SABC 1,2 & 3

She retired on 29 Feb 2016 working as General Manager of SABC TV content
Hub

She was a judge at the National Community Radio Week Project from 2016 and A member of Africomnet, a Kampala, Uganda based organization dealing with HIV/AIDS communication in Africa.

She will truly be remembered for her remarkable work in the industry. May her soul rest in peace.
