“Phologo, part of a group of playing children, swallowed a marula fruit, leading to a fatal incident. Despite prompt transport to Witpoort hospital, she was declared dead upon arrival, prompting a police inquest, ” Colonel Malesela Ledwaba Added

Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Scheepers, stresses the importance of parental vigilance. He urges parents not to leave young children alone while eating such fruits, given the potential choking risk.

“The investigation is ongoing” said Colonel Malesela Ledwaba
