South African rapper, whose real name is Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr., is currently fighting for his life after suffering a stroke on his 39th birthday, Friday, 26 July 2024. The musician, who is one of the founding members of the hip-hop group Jozi, was hospitalized after being stricken at his home, leaving his family and fans in shock.

A statement released by the Mampe family on Sunday confirmed the news, saying, “While he is in a stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones. His family calls on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period.”

The family has promised to update fans on the rapper’s condition as more information becomes available. Da Les’s celebration scheduled for Friday night was canceled at the last minute due to his illness, leaving fans stunned and concerned.

The rapper has made a significant impact on the South African music scene, collaborating with top artists like the late AKA and Ricky Rick and producing hits like “All Eyes on Me” and “Summer Love.”

Fans and fellow musicians alike are sending messages of support and well wishes for his recovery. Facebook users have written messages wishing him a speedy recovery. Facebook user Pattie Leticia wrote, “Wishing him a quick recovery.” Another user, Ray Bee MW, said, “We don’t have the power to see tomorrow, but we hope for a better one.”
