The worried Hadihele Alice Mofokeng and mother to the missing Neo Mofokeng (17) reported her daughter missing to the Welkom police today.
According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, the 17-year old left home on Monday evening, 26 December to attend the Matjhabeng Summer Blow (popularly known as MSB).
“Since she never returned home, her mother began looking for her without any luck,” reported Thakeng.
The following day, one of Neo’s friends residing at Reahola, arrived to bring the 17-year-old’s phone. She then related to the young lady’s mother that Neo left them at the event to an unknown destination.
This incident was reported to the Welkom police and a missing person file was registered for further investigation.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the police tried tracing the alleged Neo’s boyfriend known as Junior, but could not find him too,” said Thakeng.
