EX Gomora actor popularly known as Teddy joins Skeem Saam

Award-winning South African actor Sicelo Buthelezi, best known for his role as Teddy in the popular telenovela “Gomora,” is set to join the cast of another popular South African soap, “Skeem Saam.”

Buthelezi’s casting was announced by Skeem Saam’s production company on social media.Buthelezi will make his first appearance on April 2, 2024, where he will be playing the role of Tobias (Toby) Maswahla.

His character portrays someone who is a troublemaker at university, leading to his expulsion and subsequent return to Turfloop due to his behavior.Buthelezi expressed his excitement about the new character to TimesLive, stating that he is enjoying every minute of the show’s set.

He also added that he feels at home: “Having joined the Skeem Saam family has been amazing. It’s a different environment but feels like home. I’m enjoying it.”Buthelezi’s addition to the Skeem Saam cast is a major coup for the show, which is one of the most-watched soaps in South Africa.

Buthelezi is a talented actor who has won numerous awards for his work, including a Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Drama Series for his role in “Gomora.”The character of Sicelo on Skeem Saam is expected to draw viewers due to his talent and popularity.

Additionally, he will fall in love with Turf High learner, Ntswaki (Lethabo Mekoa). The teaser suggests that it will be love at first sight when the duo meets at the Maputla residence for the first time, where he delivers a parcel.
