The Hollywood Foundation, in partnership with Mpumalanga Department of Health, celebrated a momentous occasion on the 17th April 2024, with the successful unveiling of the newly refurbished dental truck at the Tintswalo District Hospital.
The event marked a significant step towards improving access to essential dental care services for remote communities in the province.
The official handover ceremony, led by the Hollywood Foundation Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Manager, Mpho Dintwa, and Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Health, Sasekani Manzini, in collaboration with Tintswalo Provincial Hospital management, showcased the state-of-the-art facilities of the Dental Truck.
The mobile facility is set to provide essential oral health services to 15 clinics in the district and schools through the hospital’s outreach programs, which were previously halted due to the poor condition of the mobile dental unit.
“We are delighted to see the culmination of our efforts in enhancing healthcare accessibility for underserved regions. This project, in line with our Health pillar, will ensure that community members receive a service that is a basic human right,” said Mpho Dintwa from the Hollywood Foundation.
MEC for the Mpumalanga Department of Health, Sasekani Manzini, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Today we are grateful to receive a donation from the Hollywood Foundation of a renovated mobile dental clinic and equipment, which will enable us to deliver services and conduct outreach programs that were previously limited due to budget constraints.”
The event was well-attended and received positive feedback from attendees who expressed gratitude for the initiative’s commitment to community empowerment through improved healthcare access.
