The final exams for the matric class of 2024 are less than 75 days away. This is a crucial time for Grade 12 pupils, as many experience significant stress and pressure. However, the Gauteng Department of Education has advised pupils to stay calm, focus, and use the remaining time to study hard.
Two students in their final year at Mpumelelo Secondary School in Rethabiseng, Bronkhorstspruit, mentioned that they are putting in a lot of effort in the last few days and hope to achieve good grades.
Given Mazibuko, a candidate, said: “Currently, I’m preparing for my trial examinations, then my final examinations. After that, I will have to decide whether I will go to the matric dance or not.”
He stated that he wants to achieve high grades by the end of the year in order to attend university.
Manqoba Sibiya, a fellow matric student at Mpumelelo Secondary School, mentioned that he feels stressed because his family wants him to do well. “I’m putting in a lot of effort. I am focused on making myself proud, so I am studying very hard in these last few days,” he said.
The Gauteng Department of Education MEC told students, teachers, and parents that the next few months are crucial, with only 74 days left before the 2024 matric exams. He encouraged matric students to concentrate, study hard, and make the most of the remaining time for practice and review. “Teachers need to continue guiding, helping, and supporting students to ensure they are ready for their exams,” he added. The MEC expressed confidence that the class of 2024 will achieve outstanding results through dedication and hard work.
