The South African Police Service (SAPS) has announced significant progress in the investigation of the murder of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tibz.
According to SAPS, six individuals have been apprehended in connection with the crime.The suspects allegedly operated in various roles within the orchestrated attack. Among them were a coordinator, two shooters, two spotters, and an organizer responsible for providing firearms and vehicles.
Details revealed by SAPS indicate that one of the spotters tracked AKA from the airport, leading to the fatal incident. Law enforcement authorities have recovered four vehicles, along with a firearm and cartridges believed to be linked to the crime.
Furthermore, investigations revealed that the last two vehicles used in the operation were hired from an individual identified as the ‘owner.’ Some of the suspects were found hiding in a residence in eSwatini.
The arrests were conducted over multiple dates, with the first suspect apprehended on April 22nd. Subsequent arrests occurred on October 24th and December 14th.
Two additional suspects were detained this past Saturday morning in eSwatini.Despite the progress made in the case, one suspect remains at large as SAPS continues its efforts to bring all involved parties to justice.
