Academic Excellence Awards ceremony, held at the Tshwane University of Technology Soshanguve North Campus on was a resounding success. The event was to recognize academic achievements across faculties and departments. The ceremony was hosted by the TCE residence and was attended by the residence’s chairperson, students and staff who all gathered to celebrate the winners’ hard work and dedication.
One of the awardees, Naomi Ndhlovu a fourth-year student in education, was recognised as the best achiever among all students. Her dedication has shown other students that studying hard has positive results at the TCE residence and one’s work.
“I am nervous and shaking at the same time, I am so happy,” said Naomi Ndhlovu.
Another winner Shaman Rasebotsa went to the stage for the second time in two consecutive years at the same institution and residence. Her hard work has made a significant impact at the residence providing accessible support to those who are struggling with their academics.
“It feels amazing to be a mentor and I hope that other students also get motivated by these awards because no one is left behind,” Rasebotsa said.
Chairperson of TCE residence Tshepo Skhosana said the guidance and support have enabled numerous students to excel in their academic pursuits.
“We are celebrating students who did well and motivating those who could not manage to get anything. These awards are also an awareness and encouragement to the first-year students to know that if they put more hard work and dedication into their studies
they will be celebrated also,” said Skhosana.
