The Life Of A Popular MC And DJ Peter “Mashata” Mabuse Was Cut Short In Soshanguve

On the 20th of April 2024, Sunday night, a popular MC, and DJ Peter “Mashata” Mabuse was shot to death with a hail of bullets in Soshanguve a township located in Pretoria, Gauteng.

The DJ who was well known as “Msindo” had his last gig at his All-Black event last night hosted at the Epozini Lifestyle in Soshanguve Block G. His passing was confirmed by the Gauteng Police Spokesperson Col Noxolo Kweza.

According to the Gauteng Police Spokesperson Col Noxolo Kweza, the shooting involves two men aged 46 and 45 years during the early hours of Sunday and one victim died at the hospital while the other was injured.

He once revealed on one of his interviews back then on why he was given the nickname “Mashata” and it because he was the loudest kid at school and at the street but he was very humble and quiet around his parents.

The former Tshwane University of Technology student Peter Mabuse was born in Hammanskraal, and was raised in Mabopane, both situated in Pretoria, Gauteng.

He became well-known on social media for his love for soul music, broadcasting, comedy and being a DJ. Mr Mashata was also a former stadium announcer for Orlando Pirates FC, a former TUT FM sports analyst and he owned his own entertainment company named Mashata-Tainment.

Its with great sadness to announce that the entertain industry has lost an entertainer again. His passing left many people with shock and sadness as results fans, friends, loved ones, former colleagues, and former school and classmates to it to the internet to express how these sad news affects them.

“It is with sadness to hear such in the early morning as he was my res manager at TUT Garankuwa campus and was a nice champ” expressed @Moses (Vusi) Malul on a social media platform X.com.
