TOUCH SA LAUCHES THEIR FIRST DIGITAL BILLBOARD

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Touch SA Marketing Solutions (PTY) LTD launched their first digital billboard just outside Soshanguve Crossing mall. The billboard was sponsored by the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) in partnership with the Competition Commission, through the Economic Development Fund (EDF).

The aim of the billboard was to open doors to Soshanguve locals and the country as a whole for marketing purposes, so that they are able to reach a greater audience.

Managing director of Touch SA, Surprise Sekgota, mentioned that he saw a gap in our market. “Young men who I have sat with in the area had a lot of ideas, creativity, and skill but poor marketing,” he said.

MDDA, together with the Competition Commission through the EDF, made it possible for the launch to take place. They broadly focus on funding and transformation and have successfully funded over 586 community media projects around the country over the past 20 years of their existence.

This includes community radios, community TV stations, and print projects.Sekgota presented Touch SA and met the criteria of the EDF and is now a beneficiary of the EDF startup program.

His project was awarded a fund of a million rand by the EDF. “We acknowledge the importance of supporting black entrepreneurship and empowering a black-owned media agency,” says Hoosain Karjieker from MDDA.

He added that the launch was a success and he looks forward to many more digital billboards from Touch SA.
