The Tshwane University of Technology’s Sports visitedRibane Laka School for career guidance on April 22nd.
Tshwane University of Technology, main campus in Pretoria visits one of the schools in the purpose of growing and developing candidates to do better with their studies so that they can qualify in the higher institution.
TUT’s Sport and Recreation Directorate partnered with Ribane Laka School of Specialisation in Mamelodi East to offer career guidance to grade 11 and 12 learners. This annual outreach program helps students with university applications, especially since Ribane Laka is a top-performing school in Tshwane.
TUT has been working with the school for the past three years, recognizing their outstanding academic performance. With the school’s new focus on Maths, Science, and ICT (aligned with the Gauteng Department of Education’s directive), TUT industry experts from these fields provided motivation and guidance to the learners. The visit aimed to boost their moral and prepare them for the rest of the academic year.
“This initiative is fantastic,” said M.Z Mngoma, the school principal. “We are grateful for the opportunity for our learners to explore university applications and connect with those who have already walked this path.” The principal even pledged a 100% matric pass rate, upholding the school’s record and ensuring a strong pipeline of future TUT students.
