Trinity International Bible University which is unregistered and does not qualify to award any qualification, awarded two celebrities Sello Maake Kancube and Serunye who play the role Principle Thobakgale on the soapie named Skeem Saam which plays on SABC 1 fake doctorates in a warehouse.
Sadden discuss about Sello Maake Kancube’s honorary doctorate being legitimate raised as he posted on social media as a result the Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande saw the importance to address the issues and warned the Trinity International Bible University to stop its illegal operation.
Minister of Higher Education Blades Nzimande disapproves the University because of its unregistered status and explained that it does not qualify to award for any qualification including the honorary doctorate they awarded the two celebrities, Sello Maake Kancube and Serunye.
The Council of Higher Education was also consulted on the matter for guidance on awarding honorary qualification and the Spokesperson for the Department of Higher Education and Training, Veli Mbele, communicated his concerns over the University’s illegal operation and explained the department’s commitment to taking further actions against the university.
To protect the dignity of the education system, the department plans to engage with affected celebrities to make its position clear and engage with the Trinity International Bible University to stop them.
