Welcome: Zanele “Zee” Makola Joins Student Living SA as Intern Journalist
Share on FacebookShare on X

Student Living SA is excited to welcome Zanele Makola, a bold and passionate young journalist-in-training, to the newsroom team.

Zanele, known to many as Zee, is a 23-year-old aspiring journalist with a strong instinct for current affairs and a deep sense of purpose. She describes herself as someone who’s always been “the friend who knew everything” and proudly says:

“I have always been passionate about what’s happening around me. I’m opinionated about world events and want to be the voice of the voiceless. I believe I’m a natural-born journalist.”

Although she was unable to complete her journalism studies in 2024 at Tshwane University of Technology due to unforeseen challenges, Zee has joined this internship programme with fresh energy and determination to complete her qualification and grow as a reporter.

Publisher Christopher Mcinga had this to say:

“Zanele — or Zee, as we call her — is a diligent and eager young reporter with high potential. Even though she faced setbacks last year, she’s come into this programme guns blazing. I have no doubt that she’ll make a strong comeback and become a great journalist.”

Zee’s arrival continues our mission of creating space for young talent, especially those who show grit, heart, and a hunger to make a difference through storytelling. Welcome to the team, Zee!
