Tshwane Council Speaker, Cllr. Mncedi Ndzwanana together with officials from Tshwane North College, accompanied by the Councillor, Telkom Foundation, CoGTA, Eskom and the School Governing Body, gathered at Winterveldt high school to hand 31 computers and 34 chairs to the learners.
According to Ndzwanana the partnership is in line with my office’s vision to see many learners in the City of Tshwane becoming tech-savvy and empowered in the forever-changing world of technology.
“Technology is one of the important components that have taken over our lives. Without a shadow of a doubt, technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace, hence, it is important for us to embrace it,” he added.
“It’s our responsibility as government, businesses, and communities to come together and provide the necessary support to all schools in Tshwane and South Africa as a whole,” said Ndzwanana.
He furthermore pleaded with the learners to take care of the computers that they donated today in partnership with Tshwane North College, supported by the Councillor, Telkom Foundation, CoGTA, the School Governing Body, and Eskom.
Tshwane Council Speaker, Cllr. Mncedi Ndzwanana called upon the learners, to appreciate this gift and explore it to the fullest. He also encouraged them to let these computers be of great assistance when doing schoolwork and applying to institutions of higher learning, as some of the leaners are in matric this year. Tshwane councilor speaker is thankful to all the partners who have come on board to make today’s handover possible.
