Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink promised residents that there will no longer be missed bin collections in the area. He ensured that only registered contractors with trucks less than nine years old, equipped with eNATIS documents and tracking devices, are handling the job.
“Inspecting our waste trucks at the Pretoria West Management Depot. It’s important that all our trucks comply with the new regulations aimed at improving waste collection services,” said Brink.
Brink, along with the MMC for Environment and Agriculture Management, Ziyanda Zwane, conducted an inspection of waste trucks at the Pretoria West Waste Depot to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
“New performance regulations for waste removal trucks have been put in place to improve service delivery and ensure value for money for ratepayers,” said Brink. “This is a way to make sure that we don’t miss any bin collection cycles because what has become clear is that illegal dumping is prevalent in many areas,” he continue.
“The City’s waste collection services faced disruptions due to the implementation of new regulations for service providers, but we are still pushing ahead. Our trucks are out in Pretoria West, including Atteridgeville,” added Brink.
