The 38-year-old Grammy Award winner Nomcebo Zikode, one of South Africa’s prominent singers and songwriters, has announced the release of her new track named “Izono Zami.”
The singer has taken to the internet to explain the significance of the song to her and her followers. She also explains the meaning of her new single “Izono Zami,” which translates to “my sins” in English.
“The time has arrived, bakithi. My first release of the year is dropping this Friday on the 22nd of March. I hope you will relate to this song; it is very spiritual to me,” wrote Nomcebo Zikode on her Instagram page.
While “Inkanyezi” was a song meant to celebrate love and partnership, “Izono Zami” aims to deliver a message of hope and healing to the people.
Ahead of the release of the new song, Nomcebo released a statement saying that she has always been an artist who is honest and transparent about her vulnerabilities. Despite her deep spirituality, she also experiences challenges and problems like everyone else. She gets frustrated, she sins, and she is not perfect. What keeps her going is her unwavering faith in God, and if she has one wish, it’s that her new single gives her listeners across the world hope and belief that things will get better if they lean on Him, “God.”
