The Non-Profit Organization (NPO) Danville Hulp Projek is reaching out to the community, urging locals to support its winter drive aimed at assisting homeless individuals this year.
The organization is located at 286 Cliffendale Drive, Faerie Glen, the Danville Hulp Projek assists homeless and underprivileged residents in the area. Managing director, Elsabe Blignaut said the organisation has a little under R300 in its account and needs assistance from the community to carry out the work it does for the underprivileged.
“But now we stand still today with only R267 in the bank. No funds to buy food, medicine, fuel, etc. The number of households without income is increasing by the day. We receive mostly old summer clothes. We have no warm clothes or blankets to give out,” Blignaut said.
The NPO is desperate for the, Groceries, non-perishable food, Clean and usable blankets, Clean and usable tracksuits, Funds for medical, transportation and rent and pre-paid electricity. “The survival of the project hangs now in the balance and winter is, on top of that too, now here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The project is now in your hands. Without your help, we can’t help the underprivileged keep their head above water. Please help save the Danville Relief Project,” Blignaut said. Residents are also reminded that all cash donations are tax deductible.
