Floyd Shivambu obtained his second Master’s Degree from the University of London

A South African politician and deputy president of Economic Freedom Fighters Nyiko Floyd Shivambu has graduated with a Master of Science degree in International Development from the University of London’s School of Oriented and African Studies on Tuesday, 30 April 2024.


According to a statement that was released by the EFF, Shivambu is a EFF Deputy President’s second Master’s degree, after having been awarded a Master of Arts degree by University of Witwatersrand in 2013-2014. People wrote on different social media platform expressing their jubilation, congratulating him and celebrating with him this achievement.


Clementine Khothatso wrote on Facebook saying “If there’s one thing I love about EFF is how they make education fashionable. They lead by example”.

Another one wrote “He’s very intelligent this one and he don’t relax when it comes to studying.”


Evangelist Emmanuel Masemola, another Facebook user said “Congratulations bro, we
are proud of your work. Education is very important to our country and for the leaders to
be well equipped.”


Shivambu’s research topic and dissertation was on examining whether the People’s Republic of China’s economic relations with African continent represent neo-colonialism.

His party has shared his graduation ceremony on social media expressing their excitement over his achievement. “ Congratulations DP @FlodyShivambu for being awarded a Master of Science degree in International Development by the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. The EFF believes that the now –tested knowledge that Deputy President gained will benefit.
