The University of Johannesburg’s Faculty of Humanities and Social TV, in collaboration with PsyCaD Career Services and PRISA, hosted the BRAG Employability Summit 2026 from 12 to 14 August, 2026, at the Sanlam Auditorium, Auckland Park Kingsway Campus.

Held under the theme “Reimagining Employability: Skills, Systems, and Social Impact,” the three-day summit focused on creating pathways for young people through skills development, innovation, economic inclusion and sustainable partnerships.

The first day explored youth employability and economic inclusion, with speakers highlighting successful programmes and collaborations aimed at expanding opportunities for young people. Discussions also focused on innovation, future-ready skills and how partnerships between communities, businesses and institutions can create lasting social impact.

“Young professionals must bring difference, creativity and curiosity to the industry, rather than safe predictable work,” stated Sylvester Chauke, Founder of DNA Brand Architects.

The second day examined the role of education, digital inclusion and corporate leadership in preparing young people for the future economy. Industry leaders shared insights on workforce readiness, social innovation and the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful systems change.

The summit concluded with a PRISA-led programme focused on shaping tomorrow’s public relations leaders through entrepreneurship, ethics and professional development. Communication experts, young practitioners and industry leaders discussed the evolving role of public relations in a rapidly changing digital environment.

Dr. Dalien Rene Benecke, University of Johannesburg (UJ) lecturer said, “Networking is a tool for connection, finding and activating talent through meaningful relationships.”

The event created a platform for networking, knowledge-sharing and collaboration among stakeholders committed to strengthening employability and building a more inclusive future for young people.
