STUDENTS REACT TO ALERT LEVEL 1

The president has announced that the country will move to alert level 1. This shift might benefit students as the last few months have been a showcase of inequalities amongst university students. It has also forced students to work and learn under a new normal of no contact classes. We asked a few students what they think level one means for students and what they are looking forward to as the restrictions are eased.

Mzamo Majola

I hope this level one means graduation ceremonies will take place. I want to celebrate my achievement especially since I finished my qualification in these times, it would mean a lot for me to wear my graduation gown and have my parents celebrate with me.

Even though we are on Level one we are still not prepared for sit in exams. We were not given enough time to catch up too. I just hope this does not mean we will sit in for exams.

I hope we will finally go back to classes. I wasn’t really coping with the back to back assessments of E-Learning. Our institution did not even provide us with proper study material.

I hope things don’t change, we were just getting used to the online learning and there is no need for contact classes anymore. We should only have contact graduation ceremonies.
